Unfortunately we had to stop gardening due to lockdown but our volunteers were busy sowing seeds and raising plants at home ready to plant in Brighouse when we were able to start gardening again.
Back in April one of our volunteers snapped these beautiful tulips which we planted in the raised boxes on the grass verge outside our Bridge End Community Garden.
The raised beds Bethel Street canal side were also looking good considering we were unable to carry out any work on them.
We were able to start gardening again on 11th May in a small group social distancing and planted 145 herbs and vegetables at Bridge End Community Garden.
We have not been able to follow our planned gardening diary shown on our website but have done another 6 garden sessions on a Tuesday evening when it is quiet working on various sites including our beds apposite Wilkos, canal side, Lawson Road planting lots of vegetables, herbs etc which we grew at home during lockdown.
A huge thank you to Andy at Incredible Edible Wakefield who was instrumental in passing on this donation of a gardening trolley which will certainly make watering much easier.
