About Us

We aim to empower the community to retain and reuse our green spaces.   Our mission is to turn unloved spaces into beautiful, practical areas by growing herbs, fruit and vegetables.

We are all unpaid volunteers who give up a couple of hours a month, doing a range of activities from weeding, planting and harvesting to running a stall at Brighouse events.  We have a tiny budget, relying on fund-raising, donations and good-will to achieve our goals.  And there are many small ways in which YOU can help!

In view of the current situation we are suspending gardening. We will review the situation in accordance with government advice.
Please understand some of the plots in the town centre will start to look untidy and also we will not be able to plant and grow vegetables for a while.
We had entered Yorkshire in Bloom again this year but judging has also been cancelled.
Thank you to our volunteers and everyone who has supported us.

We look after ground level beds by the Salvation Army, behind Websters, Lawson Road, Bradford Road Subway and most recently Thornton Square roundabout. Click on the image above to find out more.

Along the canal between Anchor Bridge and Bridge we have built and maintain 6 raised wooden planters as well as gardening in the ground level areas.  For more details click on the image above.
